So how on earth did I end up doing this ridiculous job then?! Following a very near miss with a career in aviation via a very painful Degree in Physics, I found myself auditioning to be a weather presenter in BBC Birmingham in 2003. Really, don’t ask. Surprisingly, this actually led to some work at the BBC! Following this I studied Music Production, built a home music studio (grand title for what it actually was) and subsequently moved back to the BBC to work with the LEGEND that is the late Janice Long at BBC Radio 2 in Birmingham on her evening show. She genuinely taught me so much, it’s hard to put into words 🧡

Jan recommended me to a Promotions company in London which led to a full time job as a Radio Plugger. In 2009 I set up my own company; the very orange Hesso Media, and here we are, 16 years later! 🍊 I work with a broad range of artists old and new, signed and unsigned. When I take an unsigned artist from a grass roots level right through to the playlist rotation, it really is the best feeling in the world as I love being part of the whole development and the journey. I know that sounds cheesy, but it’s 100% true.

One of the best parts of the job is being able to offer advice on Radio Remixes and choices for singles. Have a look at the A&R section! This is something that I do on a regular basis with many of my clients and have built up several amazing relationships with Record Producers - you know who you are 👀
